Process Update #2

Hello EVERYONE AGAIN!


I am back from school and I have many, many updates to share with all of you! Firstly, the backer rewards should have all been sent out, however, there are many where I did not receive addresses, so those of you who have not filled out the survey/given me your address, please do! I want to make sure that my appreciation is delivered.

Secondly, as all businesses encounter problems, the trailer that I initially obtained did not have the structural integrity in the ceiling and walls for a proper ventilation, fire suppression hood system to be installed. And since time is ticking away at the end of the year... I had to make some slight adjustments. I was away in Boston, so I decided to go through a professional company who installs kitchens in discontinued USPS and Fed-Ex trucks and storage trailers. From the quote that they gave me, it seemed more costly actually to upgrade from a trailer to a truck. With money that I had been saving up from working the past 4 years, I pitched in as much as I could towards the upgrade. Therefore, my big announcement is... Smash Up will be operated out of a 20' TRUCK.

So, what's going to happen to the trailer? My plan is still to convert the trailer into a vintage shop. Whether or not I personally will use it, is a different question. For, putting appliances in the trailer is still perfectly reasonable, just not a hanging hood system. So my plan moving forward, is to turn it into a vintage bar/coffee shop up to code.

Thirdly, I want to notify you of the upcoming schedule. Smash Up's official start date is May 26th 2022. There will be a soft opening the week prior where I will be testing out different suppliers to those of you to whom this applies to ;)

As for the backers who earned their named burger on the menu... I will host a zoom meeting where we can chat about what types of burgers we want to make. I have some ideas already... So, I will be getting in touch with you all soon about that. There will be a new special every week in the summer. The requirements are: 2 toppings, and one sauce (if applicable).
